Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth
The cultural forum acknowledges the diversity of cultures that make SoAS a true melting pot of ideas and perspectives. Its objectives are to provide a platform for students to enhance confidence, develop their personal brand, and instil Indian values, traditions, and cultures. The forum promotes culture and literature through talent searches, intercollegiate cultural and literary competitions, national interuniversity cultural and literary festivals, All India Youth Festivals, various contests, and annual functions.
In an effort to develop a united India, the NCC organizes camps that assist in national integration by bringing together various castes, cultures, and religions. In order to foster the development of youth, NCC is being integrated into the curriculum. The NCC units of SoAS are attached to two NCC battalions, namely 10 Raj Battalion NCC, Udaipur, and 1 Raj Naval Unit NCC. Each unit consists of 50 cadets.
NCC Cadets take part in various camps, such as the Annual Training Camp, Combined Annual Training Camp, Advanced Leadership, Army Attachment and National Integration, and SSB screening.
In educational institutions, National Service Schemes aim to extend the higher education system and orient students toward community service while they are studying. The educated youth expected to take over the administration in the future are unfamiliar with the problems of village/slum communities. Therefore, it is important to instil a sense of social responsibility in students and to give them the opportunity to work with people in villages and slums. There are 100 regular volunteers enrolled in the National Service program of the SoAS. The volunteers are assigned two types of activities – the special one is 7 days programme of developmental activities in the adopted village and the routine ones are tree plantation, the celebration of national days, cleaning campaign, wasteland development, personality development programmes etc.
