Physical Facilities

The infrastructural facilities broadly cover the physical facilities for teaching and learning, administration, residential facilities and facilities for extra-curricular activities. The University is spread over a campus area of 78.41 acres of green foliage in Udaipur, Rajasthan, in three campuses, as follows:

The University has sufficient and good infrastructural facilities including adequate classrooms, air conditioned ICT enabled seminar halls and auditoriums, tutorials and conducting seminars/conferences/ workshop programs. The university has spacious examination halls, valuation centres, well equipped research laboratories, with sophisticated equipments/ instruments and computer labs with internet facilities. In addition to the centralized library, dedicated and well equipped libraries are available in the constituent colleges and departments. The University has sports grounds in each college with gymnasium, hostels (for men and women), canteens, waiting rooms for women, medical room and vehicle parking. The University has 24 hours uninterrupted power supply and additional generators in each college. All the constituent colleges have their own water supply system, including reverse osmosis water plants.

The University has been constantly upgrading the infrastructure. The University has a master plan for all the campuses of the University and ensures that all the infrastructural facilities and resources are shared. The University takes periodic review regarding the availability of physical infrastructure and the needs of development. In addition to well-furnished classrooms, the University has created smart classrooms equipped with LCD projectors, LED TV, digital podiums, interactive pads with latest technology in the constituent colleges. Wide area network connected through optic-fiber cables has been set-up on the main campus.

The infrastructure facilities like – accessible toilets, Ramps, Wheel Chair, Parking are provided for the use of differently-abled persons to create disabled friendly ambience. Special considerations are given in allocating class rooms and examination rooms for differently-abled persons. Adequate facilities have been established on the campus to promote students’ interest in the sports. All the campuses are secured by boundary walls and main gates having security staff round-the-clock and CCTV cameras are installed at all the campuses as a security and safety measure.

Hospital

The university has a Mult speciality hospital which has operation theatres, diagnostic service units, clinical laboratories, pharmacy services, OPD and IPD facilities. The hospital has provided ramps and lifts which connect all the floors of the hospital. Casualty services/ accident and Emergency services are located on the ground floor of the hospital and are located in such a way that the patient can be brought right up to the door of the Casualty through the Ambulance. The hospital achieves continuous quality improvement in patient care and safety by complying with the Hospital norms of Indian Standards Organization, has established a quality assurance program for Laboratory services and radiation safety.

Library

Apart from the University Central Library there is one common library at city campus. Besides, departmental libraries have been developed at all campuses. The University has constituted a Library Advisory Committee to provide guidance leading to structured, balanced and innovative growth of the library. There are sufficient library staff to manage day to day work of libraries. In addition to printed books and back volumes of journals, these libraries have e-books, e-journals, special collections of books and book banks. There is a specific budget earmarked for the library every year. The library receives feedback informally/verbally from the staff and students during day to day working time.

IT Infrastructure

The University has a comprehensive, well defined and declared IT policy with regard to listed parameters such as IT service management, information security, network security, risk management, software asset management, open source resources and green computing. The University has a Computer Centre for taking care of its IT needs, like infrastructure, services, software systems and other resources etc. The University has its own IT service management, managed by ITES (Information Technology and Enable Services). The department is responsible for identifying, providing and maintaining reliable computing facilities, computing network environment, communication facilities and related infrastructure to facilitate education. The University has its own Software Asset Management group, under the ITES department to provide various IT Services on the campus. Adequate arrangements have been made for information security, network security, software asset management and use of open source resources. In all there are 452 computer terminals with 305 at Main campus, 58 at City campus and 89 at Dabok campus. The University pays adequate importance for developing IT infrastructure as e-learning is being promoted on priority in all disciplines. Each teacher has been provided with the internet connectivity to access e-resources like e-books, e-journals, online lectures videos etc. Use of ICT-enabled teaching methods has helped the faculty members to make teaching more conceptual, interactive and effective. Besides, the teachers find extra time for discussion and to attend the queries raised by the students. Interactive Electronic Boards enable teachers to project downloaded contents directly to the students. AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programme on e-Learning was implemented by the Department of Computer Science for the benefit of all faculty members. The University intends to develop modules with contents for open access for some of the courses, for which software has been uploaded in the University website.

Our laboratories are equipped with sophisticated/ latest equipment/instruments. Other facilities such as scanners, printers, and photocopy machines are provided in each department.

Research Centre

Many faculty members have developed their own research centre through the individual research projects to carry out research in their field of specialization. The University provides the supporting/ matching grant required for the purchase of specialized instruments/ equipment.  In addition to this, the grants received under the various schemes of DST, AICTE etc., are utilized for the up gradation of research infrastructure.

E-resources

Total 3,600+National/International e-journals, 1,00,000+ e-books, databases and other online resources have been made available through INFLIBNET UGC-Info net Digital Library Consortium to help research scholars and faculty members to keep pace with the latest developments in their field of research.

Computer Facilities

The faculty members have been provided Computers, Printers, Scanners and Internet connectivity in order to promote research and effective teaching.  Besides this, the University has also provided laptops for Professors/Associate Professors of the constituent college. Every constituent college has been provided with a well-furnished Computer Laboratory(s) with Internet connectivity.

Centre of Excellence in Advanced Research and Innovation

A CEARI is established along with 3D Printers, IoT Tools and many other facilities for the research.

Yoga Centre

Yoga Centres are established at every campus. One gymnasium is available.

Online Exam Centre

An online exam centre is also developed with 150 computer systems, latest computer network, CC TV cameras, and all other required facilities, rooms to conduct a smooth online exam.
