The Anti-Ragging Cell established to prevent and address incidents of ragging within the university community. Ragging, which involves any form of harassment or bullying of students, is strictly prohibited and undermines the values of respect, dignity, and inclusivity that our institution upholds. The Anti-Ragging Cell is. dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for all students, particularly newcomers, ensuring that their transition into university life is positive and free from fear.

Vision

Our vision is to cultivate a university environment that is free from ragging and harassment, where every student feels safe, respected, and valued. We aim to promote a culture of mutual respect and understanding, fostering a sense of belonging among all members of the university community.

Mission

The mission of the Anti-Ragging Cell is to:

  • Prevent Ragging: Implement proactive measures to prevent ragging and create awareness
    about its negative impacts on individuals and the university community.
  • Provide Support: Offer support and guidance to students who may experience or witness ragging, ensuring they have access to the resources they need.
  • Promote Awareness: Educate students, faculty, and staff about the consequences of ragging and the importance of maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment.
  • Ensure Compliance: Enforce anti-ragging policies and procedures in accordance with legal and regulatory frameworks, ensuring that all incidents are addressed promptly and effectively.

Objectives

  • Awareness Campaigns: Conduct regular awareness campaigns to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging and the importance of a respectful campus culture.
  • Reporting Mechanism: Establish a clear and confidential reporting mechanism for students to report incidents of ragging without fear of retaliation.
  • Support Services: Provide counseling and support services for victims of ragging, helping them cope with their experiences and facilitating their recovery.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly monitor the campus environment to identify potential areas of concern and evaluate the effectiveness of anti-ragging initiatives.

Functions of the Anti-Ragging Cell

1. Policy Development:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive anti-ragging policies that align with national regulations and best practices.
  • Ensure that all students are made aware of these policies during orientation and through ongoing communication.

 

2. Awareness Programs:

  • Organize workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions to raise awareness about ragging,
    its consequences, and the importance of a supportive campus culture.
  • Involve student leaders and organizations in promoting anti-ragging initiatives to foster peer support and accountability.

 

3. Reporting and Investigation:

  • Establish a confidential and accessible reporting system for students to report incidents of ragging, ensuring that all reports are taken seriously and investigated promptly.
  • Form a committee to investigate reported incidents, ensuring a fair and impartial process for all parties involved.

 

4. Support and Counseling:

  • Provide counseling services for students affected by ragging, offering emotional support and guidance to help them navigate their experiences.
  • Facilitate workshops on resilience and coping strategies to empower students who have faced harassment.

 

5. Collaboration with Authorities:

  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and legal authorities to ensure that all incidents of ragging are addressed in accordance with the law.
  • Work with university administration to ensure that appropriate disciplinary actions are taken against individuals found guilty of ragging.

 

6. Feedback and Improvement:

  • Implement a feedback mechanism to gather input from students regarding the effectiveness of anti-ragging measures and areas for improvement.
