Prof. Col. S.S. Sarangdevot

Prof. Col. S.S. Sarangdevot is Vice Chancellor of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed to be University) since June 02, 2012. He is also an Acting President of Vidya Pracharini Sabha, Udaipur since February 2023 and Chairperson Bhopal  Nobles’ University, Udaipur.

He has earned D.Litt. (Doctor of Letters) in Computer Science and Information Technology by Maryland State University, USA,  Ph.D. (Computer Science) on “Study, analysis and Modelling of ERP Packages for ERP Solution” and one more Ph.D. (Commerce) on “Financial Data Analysis for Assessment and Monitoring of Industrial Sickness in Southern Rajasthan”.

He has Over 33 years of rich experience in Management, Administration, Teaching, Research, Industry and Extension work. He has handled a series of grave existential crises faced by the University legally, academically and morally and had been able to achieve ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in 2016. Dr. Sarangevot has conferred upon Honorary rank of Colonel by the Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India for promoting Military Education in 2017.

He is member of editorial Board of more than 30 Research Journals and proceedings of many International / National conferences, Chairman of NAAC Visiting Team, advisor of Northern Regional Centre, ICSSR, New Delhi, chairman of Regional Advisory Committee of the National Labor Education and Development Board, Ministry of Labor and Employment, Government of India.

He has nominated as Commissioner of the Indian National Branch of the World Water Commission, Sweden in 2023 and also designated National SDG Ambassador by UNACCC and also became patron of Academy of Well Being Society in 2022.

He has Chaired, Co-chaired in more than 50 International / National Conferences. His more than 150 Research Papers published in International / National Journals. He has authored 11 Books and 5 Monographs. Colonel Sarangdevot has filed 25 patents, out of which 10 patents are granted.

He has guided 70 Ph.D. scholars, 9 are undergoing their Ph.D. research. He supervised 18 students for M.Phil. Dissertation and 56 candidates for MCA/M.Sc. Project.

Col. Sarangdevot Organized 80+ conferences/ seminars/ workshops and more than 50 webinars. One of the most significant achievements of Prof. Sarangdevot is substantial and huge increase in enrolment of students from less than 2600 to more than 9000 now.

He has started 53 new courses in various fields like Skill Development, pharmacy, law, education, Yoga, Agriculture, Nursing etc. By his efforts, the JRNRV University was in 2nd position after IIT in filing of patents applications in the year 2014-15 in organizations and universities section. He has Started Online Admission, Online Examination, Online Education in JRNRV Organized National Level Sports Tournaments.

He has awarded with Guru Shikshak Ratna Samman 2023 by Guru Vidyapeeth, “Rashtriya Shiksha Samman Award 2023” by National Education and Human Resource Development Organization Mumbai, Rashitrya Shiksha Samman Award – 2023 from National Education and Human Resource Development Organization, Mumbai, Madan Mohan Malviya Diamond Jubilee Award by Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University presented by Minister of State for Jal Shakti Prahlad Singh Patel in 2023, Life Time Achievement Award from University of Malaysia & DHS Foundation in 2022, “Maharshi Valmiki Award” for excellence in academic (Cash award of Rs. 1,00,000/-) by Champaran Mahotsav Samiti in Champaran Mahotsav of Bihar in 2014,   Johar Award presented by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan in 2014, and so many other.

By his efforts more than 5000 Women Beneficiaries have joined Self Help Groups in villages.

Independent India required trained professionals for industries and trade. Keeping the dire need in mind Pandit Nagar initiated a post graduate course of Social Work. To spread education to the remote villages a number of higher secondary schools, centres for fine arts were established by him in 1959.

Pandit Janrdan Rai Nagar understood the needs and aspirations of the downtrodden sections of people living in south Rajasthan. Therefore, he established an institute to provide training to prospect teachers in 1966. He believed in democratic way of life and work. Under his guidance Vidyapeeth had the ‘Jantantrik Shilanyas’ (Democratic Foundation) and it was run entirely by its workers. Its basic motto was to provide opportunity of participation to each worker in the decision making process in its various bodies.
