Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed To - Be University)

(Established under section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Noti?cation No. F.9-5/84-U-3 Dated 12 January 1987 of the Government India)

With the awakening of national consciousness in the early years of the last century, a few notable efforts were made in British India to improve the system of education prevalent in India during that time. Gujarat Vidyapeeth, started by Mahatma Gandhi, aimed at preparing youth to serve and uplift the rural masses; Shanti niketan tried to bring the cultures of the East and West into universal harmony; Jamia Milia tried to educate the Muslims in leading with the needs of the main stream of national wide and the Gurukul Change aimed at preserving the cultural heritage of the nation keeping with the requirements of the modern age. Inspired by the same spirit Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar established “Rajasthan Vidyapeeth” in 1937 to uplift the down‐trodden common man in the feudal state of Mewar. Started as Night Study Centre for the Elementary, Secondary and Advanced Courses in Hindi, our national language, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth has grown into a large complex of more than 50 institutions spread over several districts of Rajasthan.

Vision

The Vision of the University is “equitable knowledge empowerment of masses by blending the modern means with conventional values, execution of problem oriented research leading to policy interventions and extension services linked with quality improvement in life of the deprived classes and marginalized group, especially tribal population.”

About The Evening College

The first Evening College started in 1956 and continued till 1989. In 1987 Rajasthan Vidyapeeth was declared Deemed‐to‐be University, it became a constituent college of Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (Deemed) University. Evening College was restarted in July 2013. This time the students get the benefit of studying at the Evening College with NAAC ‘A’ Grade.

Our aim is to provide professional and technological knowledge in the present scenario. To ensure the active participation of the student in learning, discussion and field‐workshops, training, programs, group discussion and field work etc. To promote interaction within the community through teaching linked with research.

All the faculty members are academically qualified. They take courses like B.Ed. Special Edu (MR), D.Ed Special Edu. (HI), D.Ed special Edu. (VI), D.Ed special Edu. (MR) B.A./ B.Com/B. Sc.‐B.Ed. SPL Edu Integrated, D.Ed SPL.Edu MR or IDD, DISLI, M.Sc. and Rehabilitation Courses. P.G. Diploma in Guidance, Counselling, M.A. /M.Sc. Psychology, B.Lib & ISc., M.Lib. & Isc. And other traditional courses.

The faculty aims to impart higher education with quality and social relevance. This college is a boon for the people, who are working hard for earning their livelihood in the day time and still have the keen interest in learning. It offers a wide variety of courses including some special courses, which are rarely available. It has well‐equipped lecture halls, extensive lawns .The college also boasts of a unique open air amphitheater surrounded by majestic trees. The infrastructure has witnessed expansion owing to the increasing student strength.
