The SC/ST Cell is dedicated to ensuring equality and justice for students, staff, and stakeholders from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The Cell works to promote an inclusive and supportive environment, addressing grievances, spreading awareness, and facilitating opportunities for growth and development.

Mission

The mission of the SC/ST Cell is to:

  • Promote Inclusivity: Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for SC/ST students, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  • Facilitate Access to Resources: Provide information and access to scholarships, financial aid, and academic support tailored to the needs of SC/ST students.
  • Enhance Academic Performance: Implement programs and initiatives that support the academic success of SC/ST students through mentoring, tutoring, and skill development.
  • Raise Awareness: Educate the university community about the challenges faced by SC/ST students and promote sensitivity and understanding.

Objectives

  • Support Academic Excellence: Encourage and support SC/ST students in their academic pursuits through targeted programs and resources.
  • Financial Assistance: Facilitate access to scholarships, grants, and financial aid specifically designed for SC/ST students.

Functions of the SC/ST Cell

  • Counseling and Guidance: Provide personalized counseling services to help SC/ST students navigate academic and personal challenges, ensuring they receive the support they need.
  • Scholarship Information: Disseminate information about various scholarships, grants, and financial aid opportunities available for SC/ST students.
  • Mentorship Programs: Establish mentorship programs that connect SC/ST students with faculty, alumni, and professionals who can provide guidance and support.
  • Workshops and Training: Organize skill development workshops and training sessions focused on academic skills, career readiness, and personal development.
  • Cultural Events: Celebrate the rich cultural heritage of SC/ST communities through events, exhibitions, and discussions that promote understanding and appreciation.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Create a platform for SC/ST students to voice their concerns and suggestions, ensuring their feedback informs the development of programs and policies.
  • Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with various university departments to ensure the implementation of policies that promote inclusivity and support for SC/ST students.
