Women Empowerment Cell

The Women Empowerment Cell is committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women within the university community. Our foremost objective is to establish a supportive environment that nurtures both personal and professional development for women students and staff. Through a variety of initiatives, programs, and awareness campaigns, we seek to tackle the challenges faced by women and promote their active engagement in all areas of university life and beyond.

Mission

The mission of the Women Empowerment Cell is to:

  • Promote Gender Equality: Advocate for equal rights and opportunities for women in all spheres of life, both within the university and in the broader community.
  • Empower Women: Provide resources, support, and training to help women develop their skills, confidence, and leadership abilities.
  • Raise Awareness: Educate the university community about gender issues, women’s rights, and the importance of women’s empowerment.
  • Support Personal and Professional Development: Facilitate programs and initiatives that enhance the personal and professional growth of women students and staff.

Objectives

  • Enhance Awareness: Conduct workshops, seminars, and campaigns to raise awareness about women’s rights, gender equality, and empowerment.
  • Provide Support Services: Offer counseling and support services for women facing challenges related to gender discrimination, harassment, or personal issues.
  • Skill Development: Organize training sessions and workshops focused on skill development, leadership, and career advancement for women.
  • Create Networking Opportunities: Facilitate networking events and mentorship programs that connect women with successful role models and professionals in various fields.
  • Promote Research and Advocacy: Encourage research on gender issues and advocate for policies that promote women’s rights and empowerment within the university and beyond.

Functions of the Women Empowerment Cell

  • Workshops and Training Programs: Organize regular workshops and training sessions on topics such as leadership, self-defense, financial literacy, and career development.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Conduct awareness campaigns to educate the university community about issues affecting women and promote gender sensitivity.
  • Support and Counseling: Provide a safe space for women to seek counseling and support for personal and academic challenges.
  • Collaboration with NGOs and Community Organizations: Partner with local NGOs and community organizations to enhance outreach and support for women’s empowerment initiatives.
  • Events and Celebrations: Celebrate significant days related to women’s rights and empowerment, such as International Women’s Day, through events, discussions, and cultural programs.
