Established in 2015 at Manikya Lal Verma Shramjeevi College, the Department of Law stands as a vibrant hub of innovative, research-oriented, and interdisciplinary legal education. Founded under the visionary leadership of Prof. Col. S.S. Sarangdevot, the Department is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of legal professionals who are intellectually rigorous, socially responsive, and ethically grounded. The Department strives to nurture students who are progressive yet rooted in cultural values, independent yet collaborative, and competitive yet compassionate, equipping them to meet the evolving demands of the legal profession and society.
Offering a comprehensive spectrum of programmes- including the five-year integrated B.A. LL.B., three-year LL.B., two-year LL.M., Ph.D., and Postgraduate Diplomas in specialized domains such as Cyber Law, Labour Law, Intellectual Property Law, Taxation and Accountancy, and Forensic Science - the Department ensures academic depth alongside professional relevance. With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning and research engagement, the Department encourages critical inquiry, policy-oriented thinking, and academic scholarship across emerging areas of law and allied disciplines. Students are actively exposed to contemporary legal challenges, technological advancements, and global perspectives.

Moot Court Hall (Fully Equipped)
A modern, fully equipped Moot Court Hall designed as per Bar Council of India norms, providing a real courtroom experience. It supports moot courts, mock trials, and ADR simulations, strengthening advocacy and practical legal skills.
Library & Legal Resource Centre
A well-stocked, research-oriented library with extensive legal resources, including books, journals, law reports, and e-databases. It fosters interdisciplinary learning and supports academic excellence and legal research.
Legal Aid Clinic & ADR Facilities
An active Legal Aid Clinic in line with Bar Council of India guidelines, promoting access to justice and community engagement. Students gain hands-on exposure to mediation, negotiation, and legal outreach.
Computer Lab & Research Support
Well-equipped computer facilities with internet access, enabling students to engage in digital legal research, access online databases, and develop academic and drafting skills.
Common Rooms (GCR & BCR)
Separate, well-maintained Common Rooms for Girls and Boys as per Bar Council of India norms, providing a safe, inclusive, and comfortable student space.
Seminar & Conference Facilities
Dedicated spaces for seminars, workshops, and guest lectures, fostering academic dialogue, professional exposure, and research dissemination.
The Department actively facilitates internships for students to enhance employability and develop real-life advocacy skills. Students are encouraged and guided to intern across diverse legal domains, including corporate firms, NGOs, and advocate offices, enabling them to gain practical exposure and professional insight. The Departments have various students placed in different public as well as private institutions. The Department also provides continuous support and mentorship for participation in moot court competitions, helping students strengthen their research, drafting, and advocacy abilities while building confidence and courtroom competence.
