Founded in 1937 by the visionary Gandhian Pandit Janardan Rai Nagar, our university began as a simple movement to bring literacy to the marginalized communities of Southern Rajasthan. What started as a mission for social reform has grown into a premier Deemed-to-be University (recognized by the Government of India in 1987) that perfectly balances traditional Indian values with a modern, global outlook.
Today, Janardan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidyapeeth (JRNRV) is a multidisciplinary hub where academic excellence meets social responsibility. Guided by our unique "Jan Tantra Shilanyas" governance—a democratic framework for university administration—we remain dedicated to the "equitable knowledge empowerment" of rural and tribal youth.
